This is a consultative sales role covering UK end users and operators selling process control and safety systems. This role is responsible for driving the sales effort in existing and new markets to achieve revenue, margin and growth targets.

This role involves creating and delivering sales plans, managing the sales pipeline, forecasting performance, supporting key customer relationships and prospecting for new business.

This is a home-based role with UK-wide travel (mainly across the north of England) up to 4 days per week.

Key responsibilities

  • Prospecting within target markets to identify opportunities and decision makers.
  • Self motivate and manage their own time to meet performance expectations.
  • Monitor sales pipeline activity, forecast revenue and report progress to the sales director.
  • Analyse sales data, market trends and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with marketing and operations to align commercial activity.
  • Represent the company at exhibitions and events.
  • Ensure accurate use of the CRM system and maintain high-quality sales reporting.

Experience and qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales, business development or account management.
  • Applications would be considered from automation engineers with a desire to move into a commercial role.
  • Managing long technical sales cycles.
  • Opening new markets.
  • Strong track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience managing pipelines, forecasts, budgets and sales performance metrics.
  • Confident user of CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Industry and technical experience in automation control systems would be advantageous.
  • Relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent commercial experience preferred.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
